Years of visioning and planning have laid the foundation for the current Design phase.

The State authorized a total of $200 million for the CIHC in the 2018-19 budget to fully implement the Masterplan and General Plan, including:

$100 million State Funds.
$100 million in reimbursement authority, to come from future fundraising efforts.

The project can be constructed in phases in the event that more time is needed to raise funds for the balance of the project.

The California Indian Heritage Center project continues to receive acknowledgment as an important asset to the state. The project has received major support by California governors, both in financial commitment and in recognition of Native American significance.
